About Ms. Evans

As an educator I am interested in finding ways in getting children excited about art and the world they live in.  With a Bachelors Degree in Middle and Secondary Education and Visual Arts from Gordon College, it has been my passion to encourage students to get connected to the ideas and work that they create. This is why many of my students are challenged to produce artwork that has a personal connotation in some way. Students in my classes have used media such as paint, graphite, ink, clay, and film in various art projects to invent pieces that are important to them in a nurturing and fun environment.

I have always had a love for children, so I have spent a lot of time around them in various settings.  Upon graduation and student teaching at Ipswich High School in 2008, I worked for North Shore Christian School in Lynn.  Other jobs prior to graduation include working for Brookwood School in Manchester, MA and the Oyster River School District in Durham, NH.

Even though I have practiced and love all art forms, my primary work as an artist and teacher lies in watercolor painting, clay sculpture, and photography.  I have taught such classes as Introduction to Art, Painting, and Ceramics and am excited to share my love for art with more eager young artists of all ages as I join the Kidcasso Art Team this fall.
